Why is it so difficult to find non-alcoholic drinks in France?

Unfortunately, the drinking culture in France is widespread and ingrained in society. Many traditional drinks are high in alcohol and/or sugary and very popular, and there are not always many non-alcoholic alternatives available. Food cultures are growing, however, and you will find more and more non-alcoholic drinks more and more easily.

At Sanzalc, we fight every day to offer you the best non-alcoholic drinks in France!

In France, most bars and restaurants only serve drinks containing alcohol and food products containing alcohol. There are laws and traditions that encourage alcohol consumption. Non-alcoholic drinks are uncommon, as they are not an integral part of French culture and are considered of lower quality. Additionally, all alcohol abuse must be reported and local authorities treat non-alcoholic drinks as light alcohol. Therefore, sales are limited and pubs and restaurants do not yet serve these non-alcoholic drinks in France.
