🔍 TO KNOW EVERYTHING…

It took a year and a half of research and development to obtain a result that “can stand alongside other special beers without blushing,” says the Huyghe brewery about the Delirio beer without alcohol 0.3% and already at the origin of the no less famous Delirium Tremens.

Delirio was made with an alternative yeast that does not produce alcohol. “We had to relearn how to brew,” laughs brewmaster Joris Dheedene, “but thanks to a creative composition of several grains, we obtained a fruity, woody and spicy flavor that clearly references the famous Delirium. It proves powerful in every way and creates an explosion of flavors on the palate, with fruity and hoppy notes leading the way.”

We will obviously highlight the irony of seeing a non-alcoholic beer appear in a range named after the very serious neurological disorder linked to alcohol withdrawal: delirium tremens therefore... A touch of black humor now overtaken by the reality of the market. A reality clearly accepted by the brewery.

🧑‍🌾 ABOUT THE PRODUCER

THE RICH HISTORY OF THE
Huyghe Brewery

At the place called “Appelhoek” in Melle, beer brewing is a centuries-old tradition. Traces of brewing activity can be found here as early as 1654. In 1904, Léon Huyghe took his first steps in the local brewery.

In 1925, he received family support from his son Albert and his son-in-law Louis Droesbeque. The brewery was then officially renamed Brasserie L. Huyghe. Today, with Alain De Laet, the fourth Huyghe generation continues to rotate the brews. The elephant, which was born in 1989, has become an international emblem.
